Diary, [ca. nivôse]-14 germinal [XIII] [i.e. ca. 20 Jan-4 Apr 1805].

Surviving pages of a holograph diary kept during a period of close association with Stendhal. Entries concern their shared interests, particularly the thoughts and opinions of both on theater and on actors and actresses. Two paragraphs, comprising fifteen lines, are in the hand of Stendhal and consist of his ranking of several actors, including Talma, Duchesnoy, Fleury, Monval, Dugazon, and Mars. Accompanied by notes of a former owner.
